TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR STEMS OF WONDER PURCHASES
Effective from August 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply to Stems of Wonder purchases made through www.thestemsproject.co.nz. By completing your order, you agree to the following:
1. PRODUCTS
Stems of Wonder offers a range of seed gifts and seasonal growing experiences, including:
Spring Wonder Boxes
A prepaid seasonal growing experience consisting of five fortnightly deliveries, with ten unusual plant varieties selected for their appearance, behaviour or botanical interest.
The Sensory Box
A one-off seasonal seed-growing box featuring four unusual plants selected for their sensory qualities, including movement, touch, scent and taste.
Everyday Wonders
Single-variety, personality-inspired flower seed kits designed for gifting or growing yourself.
Availability, delivery timing and individual product contents may vary by season. Current details are shown on each product page at the time of purchase.
All products are one-time purchases and do not auto-renew.
2. PREPAYMENT & BILLING
All purchases are prepaid in full at the time of ordering.
For seasonal products and pre-orders, payment secures your order and allows us to plan, source and prepare stock in advance.
No recurring payments will be taken.
3. CANCELLATIONS, RETURNS & REFUNDS
Because many Stems of Wonder products are seasonal and prepared in advance, we do not generally offer cancellations, returns or exchanges for change of mind once an order has been placed.
This does not affect your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or any other applicable consumer law.
If your order arrives damaged, incorrect, faulty or otherwise not as it should be, please contact us at hello@thestemsproject.co.nz so we can put it right.
All seed products include growing guidance, and we take care to supply fresh, viable seed. However, germination and growing success depend on factors outside our control, including temperature, moisture, light, sowing conditions and ongoing care, so we cannot guarantee germination or final growing results.
If you are having trouble with your seeds, please get in touch. We are always happy to help troubleshoot.
4. SHIPPING & DISPATCH
Delivery timing varies depending on the product and season.
Spring Wonder Boxes are dispatched according to the seasonal delivery schedule provided at the time of ordering.
The Sensory Box begins shipping from mid-September. Orders placed after shipping has commenced are generally dispatched within 2–3 business days.
Everyday Wonders are generally dispatched within 2–3 business days.
All orders are sent by tracked courier unless otherwise stated.
Estimated courier delivery times are provided as a guide only and may be affected by courier delays, rural delivery, public holidays or other circumstances outside our control.
You’ll receive an email notification when your order has been dispatched.
5. DELIVERY ADDRESS CHANGES
If you need to update a delivery address, please contact us as soon as possible at hello@thestemsproject.co.nz.
For Spring Wonder Boxes, we are happy to send future deliveries to a different address, including to a friend or gift recipient, provided we receive the new details before that delivery has been prepared or dispatched.
Once an order has been dispatched, we may not be able to change its destination.
6. GIFT ORDERS
Many Stems of Wonder products can be purchased as gifts.
Where a product includes a gift-details form, this will be provided after checkout so you can supply the recipient's details and any gift message.
Depending on the product, you may be able to choose to have the order:
• Sent directly to the recipient, or
• Sent to you to give in person.
Gift certificates may also be available for selected products.
Please refer to the individual product page for current gifting options.
7. PLANT & SEED SAFETY
Some plant varieties may be harmful or toxic if ingested.
Where relevant, safety information is included with the product or growing guide. Please follow all supplied instructions and keep seeds and plants out of reach of children and pets where appropriate.
Seeds are intended for growing purposes unless specifically stated otherwise.
8. BIOSECURITY
Stems of Wonder takes New Zealand biosecurity requirements seriously.
Seed varieties supplied by Stems of Wonder are sourced and supplied in accordance with applicable New Zealand biosecurity requirements. Where import permits, phytosanitary documentation or other approvals are required, these are obtained as applicable.
We do not knowingly supply prohibited or restricted seed varieties.
9. PRODUCT VARIATIONS & AVAILABILITY
Stems of Wonder products may contain seasonal or limited-availability plant varieties.
If circumstances outside our reasonable control make a particular seed variety unavailable, we may substitute it with another variety of similar interest or value. Where a material change is required, we will make reasonable efforts to communicate this to affected customers.
Packaging, presentation and minor product details may occasionally differ from photographs shown online while maintaining the overall nature and value of the product.
